Why does it feel like food recalls have gotten 100x worse over the last year?
(hint: it's because of Trump and RFK Jr.)
@mcclellan.house.gov explains.
The Trump Administration has betrayed the Afghans who aided the U.S. military, at great risk to themselves.

U.S. to Send Dozens Back to Afghanistan, Despite Risk of Persecution
The Trump administration plans to fly the Afghan immigrants from Louisiana to Pakistan, where they are expected to be expelled over the border to Afghanistan.
For this month’s episode of Moments with McClellan, I’m back in Richmond with Attorney General Jay Jones!
Stay tuned to hear about his family’s Halloween plans, what it’s like coming from a long line of civil activists and more.
Does Halloween seem more expensive this year? There’s a reason for that.
Agriculture is the largest private industry in Virginia. This vital pillar of our economy faces significant challenges due to rising costs
and shrinking markets.
Yesterday, I visited with Brunswick County loggers and beef cattle farmers to discuss their challenges and how Congress can help.
Rural farmers and ranchers serve as the backbone of the American economy.
I joined @repshontelbrown.bsky.social and Rep. Salinas to introduce the Farming Opportunities Training and Outreach Grant Program Reauthorization Act to preserve one of our nation’s most vital sectors.
The Congressional App Challenge encourages students to flex their coding skills and turn their ideas into reality. I caught up with Akash, last year’s winner for VA-04, to hear about his experience coding Elderlink AR.

In 2018, the Virginia General Assembly expanded Medicaid on a bipartisan basis.
In 2025, Virginia Republicans in Congress voted for the largest Medicaid cuts in American history.
I joined the @protectourcare.org “Sick of It” Bus Tour in Virginia Beach to show how these cuts endanger Virginians.
To ensure that all citizens can participate in our government by, of and for the people, each generation must fully understand the rich and complex history of its founding.
I joined Rep Haridopolos to introduce a bill to establish National American History and Founders Month.
America has a maternal mortality crisis. The health care cuts in the Republicans’ Big Ugly Law are making it worse.
During the @protectourcare.org “Sick of It” Bus Tour stop in Williamsburg, I explained how.
Early detection saves lives.
This #NationalMammographyDay, prioritize your health, schedule your mammogram and stay informed about warning signs of breast cancer.
In Trump’s economy, here are 5 things that aren’t worth the money.
Trump and Congressional Republicans have worsened the health care crisis by slashing over $1 trillion from Medicaid to give to billionaires.
I joined @bobbyscott.house.gov, state officials, patients and advocates for the @protectourcare.org “Sick of It” Bus Tour to call on Congress to act now.
Amidst a crisis that forces millions to pay more for groceries, gas and more, nearly half of Virginia households can’t get enough to eat. Food assistance organizations can’t meet the demand.
Meanwhile, Republicans cut food assistance to fund tax breaks for billionaires and wars that drive up costs.
Food pantries across Central Virginia are struggling to keep up as demand surges and donations decline. Feed More has seen a 20% increase in demand this year, while a new study finds that 42% of Virginia households experienced food insecurity.
Another disturbing example of the Trump Administration weaponizing federal agencies to go after his political enemies… three weeks before an election.
You expect this outrageous behavior from fascist dictators. It has no place in American democracy. I stand with @repilhan.bsky.social.
Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay! Virginia has eleven tribes recognized by the Commonwealth, seven of which are federally recognized.
Each has played a pivotal role in shaping our history for thousands of years. Today, we celebrate their rich histories, cultures and traditions.
By gutting the Office for Civil Rights and rolling back Title IX protections, the Trump Administration’s Department of Education has failed Jane Doe, Kendall Francis and countless other students whose stories are not in the news.
They deserve better.
Jane Doe and Kendall Francis are not alone. 1 in 4 women experience sexual violence while in college. And Trump’s Dept of Ed. is doing nothing to address it. They have gutted the very Office tasked with enforcing Title IX and formally reinstated regulations that weaken protections for survivors.
